"Great Improvements"
A medical journal from BMJ Global Health cited that on a 4-week study of IMS therapy to patients with chronic pain, cases showed great improvements without adverse effect.

"More effective than traditional treatments"
In a systematic review published online by the US National Library of Medicine - National Institutes of Health, it was cited that on patients with lower back pain, IMS plus standard treatment provided better results at discharge compares to standard treatment alone.

Think of a hose. If you kink a hose, less water comes out. The same is true with a nerve. Muscle spasms "kink" fluid flow in the nerve. The nerve then becomes malnourished.
Malnourished nerves cause painful muscle spasms. When spasms persist, even with attempts to stretch or massage, it can lead to degenerative changes in your joints. IMS therapy is an effective solution to this problem.
What Dry Needling Therapy Does:
1. Stretch receptors in your muscle are targeted, resulting in immediate muscle relaxation.
2. Gentle dry-needling causes microtrauma in the muscle, bringing blood to the area and helping it heal.
3. Electrical current flows through the nerve properly, helping it heal.
The result: an immediate reduction of muscle spasms, skin and joint pain, andan increase in joint range.
Experienced physiotherapists who have in-depth knowledge of physiology and neuroanatomy deliver highly effective, personalized Dry Needling techniques.

How does Dry Needling work?
Dry Needling releases tight muscles and relieves pressure on tendons, joints, and nerves by inserting fine needles into the muscle. This activates the muscle's reflexes leading to relaxation, better blood circulation, and restoration of normal function.
Is it going to be painful?
Upon treatment, tiny aching sensation might be felt when the needle is inserted into the affected muscles. The treatments are fairly short and for most cases, it is generally painless afterward but some patients may experience soreness for a day or two after their therapy.
How many treatments do I need?
The number of treatments required depends on an individual’s condition. Generally, if the pain or injury is recent, it may only need 2 therapy sessions. Factors like age and general health status may affect the length of treatment too. Typically IMS therapy is performed once every 2 weeks.
I’ve had acupuncture before. How will this be different?
Both use fine needles. Acupuncture’s needle placement is define according to Eastern Medicine principles while IMS’ core philosophies lies on understanding of the human anatomy and neurology. The process of IMS works to diagnose and treat the pain from its neuropathic origin.
